SaSSy_Santalum album
SaSSy gene codes for the enzyme Santalene Synthase and is obtained from the genome of Santalum album. SaSSy is involved in Santalene biosynthesis and converts Farnasyl pyrophosphate (FPP) into alpha santalene, beta santalene, epi-beta santalene, and alpha-exo-bergamotene as shown in the below figure. The protein coding region was obtained from NCBI and was codon optimized for Pseudomonas putida.
